Indeed I really think that we never really change. Of course, we evoluate, we take decisions, we change but not in that way. You will always go back to the real person you are, if ever you have found who you are.
I changed, but deep inside I'm still the same person. My tastes grew, but what I liked before, I still like. Purple was my favorite colour in high school, and still is, and the list can go on.
The Mariah Carey number one album I received for my 9th birthday, well the other day I listenned to it, and still liked all the songs. Weird.
